When you're driving from Tarvisio towards Amaro (approximately 50km from Tarvisio) soon after crossing the bridge over Bela, a narrow road branches off to the right, which takes you under the highway to a bridge, beyond which there's a parking space on the right and the start of the path on the left, marked with No. 415. To the top it's 800 meters of ascent, the last part of the path to the top branches off to the right in the basin below the shelter. Descriptions say the tour is feasible in all seasons and it really is. On Saturday sticks and gaiters were enough (which I forgot at home), today due to low temperatures don't go on the path without crampons. The family who hosted me in the unmanned shelter told me they roasted chestnuts there some time ago, the open fireplace is such that you can bake something else too. From the top magnificent views in all directions, in the valley you can nicely see the confluence of Bela and Tilment. From the shelter you can continue to Amariano, from the valley to the top less than five hours walking, a bit higher there's another unmanned shelter. At the starting point, a few dozen meters aside, nice waterfall and great pool below it promising pleasant summer refreshment. Wonderful trip!

At 900m counted snowflakes, at the top 1108m pampered little bee with jam from crescent roll  What a winter 
After bridge over Bela turned right towards Campiolo, went under highway and right after bridge over Favarins stream parked at larger parking. No more signs for Amariano and Forcella (broken), but marks of course (CAI 415). Beautiful weather and couple pleasant encounters on ascent, plenty solitude at top, also lovely views, deep thoughts and delicious panino. Also downhill encounter and chat, one still at top, other at building with same guy as uphill. From Valaconin building on path washed out at one more exposed spot, careful there, otherwise more walk than mountain tour. Saturday of course, today winter there and gear must match now. Shelter always open, fireplace inside where light fire and cook something. For me and princess five years ago they did, today no smoke from chimney. After tour detour to Favarins waterfall and same end as good five years ago. Really must once in summer conditions go to Amariano and really must (at least) once returning from Carnia throw into pool under waterfall

When going to waterfall, leave NOTHING in car and better leave car unlocked. Yesterday we went on this beautiful mostly shady path. After return put backpacks in trunk and went to waterfall. After 15 min found car broken into through smashed rear window. Both backpacks gone, documents, bank card, luckily money and 1 phone left so could report break-in immediately and cancel card. Carabinieri at Tarvisio uninterested and unprofessional. Stay away! Several colored glass pieces on parking showed more break-ins same way. Careful!

always there  years ago ex relative - cop and wife from Austria - same happened, carabinieri from Amaro know well cause happens for years, probably some local, that lightning or something hits him once for all!

Then I was just lucky to get away unscathed  Twice there, two wonderful memories. Especially first time served nicely at refuge with pasta or fusilli con salsa alla erbe and piece of baked sausage
