Friday, 22.2.2019 Monte Medol is a hill just over a thousand meters high, rising above the end of the Prescudin valley. If it's true that there's no sin above a thousand meters, then there are definitely sinfully beautiful views here on Monte Messer, Monte Antander, Crep Nudo and a few others, whose usual approaches lead from the other side. Starting point of the tour is in Arcola, a hamlet not far from Barcis. Current conditions are quite tricky, as the road to the Prescudin hamlet is encased in ice and you have to walk along the edge or put on crampons, which I didn't have with me. From there onwards there's quite some snow that melts during the day and sinks deeper in places. Gaiters are handy if you have them. I didn't have them either. Otherwise the path is easy and exemplarily marked, just about ten minutes below the summit the path gets lost in the leaves and you need to be more attentive to turn in the right direction. I built a cairn there, which surely still stands today. It's not the closest and by no means high, but very nice https://tubojan.blogspot.com/2019/02/monte-medol.html
