The mountain above Val Visdende has been on my wish list for a few years. Yesterday I cycled to Val Visdende, this morning I started from below by the Piave river and up path 143, where you can see that few people walk. Initially steeply uphill, then along a nice mulatiera all the way to Forcella Piccola, from there ascent (30 min.) to Monte Carro, back down and onwards, where the path is no longer so nice, but more marked pathless terrain, you have to go quite high under Cima Mezzano, then down again a lot, where I finally reach path 130, which leads to Forcella Grande. There I catch up with local Sara, who went mushroom picking and got lost towards Rinaldo, intentionally of course, as otherwise they wouldn't let her go alone from home. Together we go to the summit, where we also sit for a long time. Then back down to the big notch and along path 130 to Val Visdende. Beautiful mountain with excellent views of the Dolomites, which were mostly in mist, well when I get to the car there was already a thunderstorm.
