Friday 1.11.2019 Our starting point was in Forni di Sopra. We walked through the village to its end, then continued uphill along the road, ski slope and hiking trail. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, wonderful views and the company of countless golden-yellow larches that grew along the path. Monte Simone is an excellent viewpoint; let me mention the Friulian Dolomites, Tre Cime, Piove and Tiarfin, Clapsavon and Bivero, and more and more... After Monte Simone we also climbed to Monte Crusicalas, which is actually just a grassy summit above the chairlift station, and during the descent to the extremely scenic Clap Varmost. There is also a difficult via ferrata leading to the latter. When the lifts are operating, you can reach Simone in twenty minutes if you go up to the top of the third chairlift. Then the paths are not solitary and livestock graze on the ski slopes, on the alpine pasture and in the huts you can eat and drink well; the tour we did with the princess can be a pleasant trip with the use of chairlifts. But if you tackle it on foot from the valley and add Crusicalas and Varmost to Simone, the outing becomes a proper hike where you climb almost fourteen hundred meters up, and in length just under ten times that. It was nice https://tubojan.blogspot.com/2019/11/monte-simone-monte-crusicalas-in-clap.html
