Saturday, 4.1.2020 The starting point for the tour is the village Andreis on the edge of the Natural Park Friulian Dolomites (Parco Naturale Dolomiti Friulane), which falls under UNESCO protection. In the village there are quite a few parking lots, we left the car at the one a bit further ahead from the Natural Park information office. Along the little road we arrived by, we continued on foot downhill to the stream and there took the path leading towards the saddle Forcela D'Antracisa and bivouac Bivaco dell'Asta (CAI 976). Monte Taront is not on signposts, neither below nor along the path. The path itself is in places undermined due to erosion, in places overgrown, most of it also relatively exposed. At the saddle Forcella D'Antracisa, where the path to the summit continues left, right goes towards bivouac Dell'Asta, there is a "warning" on the trunk that the further path is suitable only for "experts". We had no difficulties to the summit, but one needs to be careful as a few minutes below the summit a modest little path branches off left leading to the summit, right continues a more visible little path that bypasses the summit lower down. Taront is an excellent viewpoint on Lake Barcis, nearby Monte Resettum and Monte Rest, mountains above Piancavallo, Crep Nuda group and more and more... We descended along a beautiful, in places quite steep and all the time very panoramic grassy ridge that brought us to Monte Turlon, less pronounced little summit by or on the path. We weren't far from Alcheda, a smaller hamlet not far from the starting point, from there to the car neither. Beautiful day and excellent trip into quite wild, pristine world, despite modest little paths and markings. http://tubojan.blogspot.com/2020/01/monte-taront-in-monte-turlon.html
