Monte Tremalzo

Monte Tremalzo is a 1973 m high peak near lake Lago di Ledro. You can reach it from several directions, we chose one of the longer ones out of curiosity velik nasmeh. Out of curiosity because the day before on one of the neighboring peaks we observed an attractive military road from WW1 in steep slopes towards Tremalzo pass. We didn't regret our decision at all nasmeh. Kilometers of macadam we are used to from Spain, this road redeemed itself with its gentleness and wide views.

To access Monte Tremalzo you first need to get to Passo Nota saddle. One of the starting points for this direction is the arranged parking lot in the hidden valley by Lago di Ledro lake, all about half an hour from Lake Garda. The path has marking 421, direction Passo Nota (not marked on the map). It first gently leads past farms and pastures, then through forest all the way to the break in the slope into the plain and further to Nota saddle. Here is a junction of several paths, you need to keep right. At Nota saddle there is mountain hut Rifugio di Alpini, which is nothing special. Much more sympathetic is the Fratelli Pedercini hut 10 minutes lower. Everyone who makes the effort to reach it will immediately understand why it's sympathetic nasmeh.

Right below the upper hut there are signs for Tremalzo pass. The macadam road is unmistakable, only pedestrians and cyclists can use it. It's laid out so that you just marvel at the builders and enjoy the views. Despite the solid length time passed quickly and soon we were at the highest point of the pass. Through the tunnel we crossed to the other valley and already from afar spotted guesthouse Albergo Ristorante Garda. The path to Tremalzo peak turns right after this guesthouse and is the only right one. I say that because that inviting path soon after the tunnel doesn't lead to the peak but only to a viewpoint zavijanje z očmi. The ascent to Monte Tremalzo itself is nothing special, the peak is an excellent viewpoint.

We returned in the approach direction first to the guesthouse, then to the tunnel and down the macadam road towards Nota saddle. In the last third of the road we came to Passo della Rosa saddle, where we left the road. We followed markings 457 B and returned to the starting point through the other valley.

Some useful data :

Starting point : hamlet Pur by Ledro lake .... 45°52''06.8"N / 10°44''50.2"E ( Google Maps_Android )
Path length : 31 km / Ascent on path : 1800 m
Duration : 10 hours

Monte Tremalzo The first path markers are near the organized parking lot. We chose the left road in the direction of Passo Nota, we returned on the right one.1

Monte Tremalzo We are already on the road. For construction they blasted huge rock formations, in places there were more rational tunnels.8
Monte Tremalzo The road does not collapse but they diligently maintain it, although it is intended only for walkers and cyclists. Here they know what tourism is.9

pic.5. I could almost swear that I saw this van a few years ago in Deutscher Rut, and the owner on Rodica.
Older, modest guy. He looked at Triglav so lovingly, it was a joy to watch.
I think it had Austrian plates.

The guy in picture 5 is indeed older and the van also has Austrian plates. That he was a hiker was visible from the gaiters he had hanging outside. Obviously we saw the same person nasmeh
