Today I set off with PD Medvode to the Carnics. The Carnics are quite extensive and there won't be a shortage of peaks of all kinds anytime soon. Due to snow we went to the mid-mountains - that means below 2000m. We drove to Tarvisio and from there to the foot of the Carnics. Start was below the village Dordolla. From the village along path no. 425 to the bivouac at Chiasut dal Scior. - The bivouac is at 1742m. Above the bivouac is the peak Sciora - Belvedere. From the bivouac to the summit only 15 minutes. The neighboring peak is Vualt - high 1752m. To it from the bivouac also 15 minutes. Then we went to the third peak Forchiadice - 1579m. From there along another path to the village Dordolla. The uphill path is steep in places. Downhill more pleasant. The views were fit for gods. We walked about six hours in total.

Second time to the notable viewpoint, this time up 422, down via Palis d'Arint to junction with 425 and back to Dordollo along it. Paths without special features, shelter Cjasut dal Scior cozy and clean. Divine day, despite clouds in the sky and some minor crowds on the way up. Really a special place that does good to soul and body. Locals in Dordollo very friendly, dogs too, Friulian word blesses the soul, even though I didn't understand much of the older men's talk. Bottom line so nice that third time is just a matter of time nasmeh

ciao Bojan, pic 48: I see after many years they changed the text on the sign next to the chopped wood, we did opposite direction and at the pile of chopped wood (some 5 min before the hut) before it was written in Friulian " un claut , sis personis" zmedenvelik nasmeh .... for one nail, six people; it meant " so many people pass by and none brings up even one piece", Friulian is quite sarcastic and precise togethermežikanje , now they wrote " amico escursionista" friend hikernasmeh

Ciao Alessio,
if you went the other way, you'd help a bit nasmeh The shelter is clean and tidy, it'd be nice to sleep up there once and catch sunrise on Belvedere. Say in winter, in snow, then it could be fairytale-like, also sunset the evening before mežikanje
