We moved to the neighboring valley - above the cute village Cima di Sappada, from where an 8 km long path leads to the hut at the Piave springs. There three mountains were waiting for us. The first day started with a wonderful sunrise. We ascended to the Calvi hut and then along the marked path, which above the hut turns right under the Peralba wall, entered the ferrata Sartori, which leads to the summit. Nice, not too difficult ferrata, below the summit walking on crumbly terrain. Views from the top weren't the best, but still nice. We descended to the NE side, where the gully is somewhat problematic, secured with a cable though, but quite crumbly. Continued to the Sesis pass and then under the S wall of Pic de Chiadenis and Chiadenis to the saddle Sella di Cacciatori, where the entrance to ferrata Portogruaro. To me personally this ferrata is more likeable, more varied than the one to Peralba. The main part runs just along the cable. Especially the southern slopes are quite precipitous and less suitable for vertigo sufferers. From the top we descended via Ferrata della Guerra, which runs along the ridge and then drops to the notch, from where to the "bottom" the rock is quite smooth. Past the war remains we continued to the Calvi hut and back to the start. The next day we did an easy ascent to Avanza, wrapped in fog all day. From the start, somewhat below the parking at the hut at Piave springs, under the Sella di Cacciatori pass we turned into the scree and then to the col under the mountain itself. The path is secured with cable at key spots. No views due to fog up to halfway the mountain, the path itself nice and unproblematic.
