We moved to the neighboring valley - above the cute village Cima di Sappada, from where an 8 km long path leads to the hut at the Piave springs. There three mountains were waiting for us. The first day started with a wonderful sunrise. We ascended to the Calvi hut and then along the marked path, which above the hut turns right under the Peralba wall, entered the ferrata Sartori, which leads to the summit. Nice, not too difficult ferrata, below the summit walking on crumbly terrain. Views from the top weren't the best, but still nice. We descended to the NE side, where the gully is somewhat problematic, secured with a cable though, but quite crumbly. Continued to the Sesis pass and then under the S wall of Pic de Chiadenis and Chiadenis to the saddle Sella di Cacciatori, where the entrance to ferrata Portogruaro. To me personally this ferrata is more likeable, more varied than the one to Peralba. The main part runs just along the cable. Especially the southern slopes are quite precipitous and less suitable for vertigo sufferers. From the top we descended via Ferrata della Guerra, which runs along the ridge and then drops to the notch, from where to the "bottom" the rock is quite smooth. Past the war remains we continued to the Calvi hut and back to the start. The next day we did an easy ascent to Avanza, wrapped in fog all day. From the start, somewhat below the parking at the hut at Piave springs, under the Sella di Cacciatori pass we turned into the scree and then to the col under the mountain itself. The path is secured with cable at key spots. No views due to fog up to halfway the mountain, the path itself nice and unproblematic.

Oh that's in my home mountainsnasmeh. I actually went left above the Calvi hut, where a little path took me to the entrance of ferrata Sartor, short and sweet, down on the pope's path to Sesis saddle. But nice also on the western ridge to Peralba. The ascent to Pic Chiadenis doesn't exceed I. difficulty grade, though it looks quite steep. Monte Chiadenis is a real little gem anyway, gotta go there again sometime. Cima Cacciatori still waiting, and from Avanza apparently nice touring descent in winternasmeh.

No problem, have to go on a trip together sometime, then we'll coordinate left rightmežikanje, it is really nice, for autumn I recommend also Chiadin from Baita San Cristo, Olbe lakes and Monte Lastroni from Baita Rododendro, and more Siere, Forata...

Two days ago the car sped past changing landscape until we turned onto the narrower ascending road through Val Sesis leading towards Piave source. At altitude just over 1700m I gave the driving seat to the passenger who drove a bit higher and started her hike there, while I headed down to Casera di Casa Vecchia pasture, then up through sparse forest that with every step revealed unknown landscape to me and with height offered more and more expansive views. I left CAI 173 path when it turns sharply left to Passo dei Cacciatore saddle, as my legs carried me straight on along the valley towards the glacier. Its short jump is mentioned in the comment on normal approach description on hribi.net by mirank too and I can only agree that the remaining cable (pic 4) is really flimsy and probably unreliable, rock wet and smooth. At Monte Avanza summit views opened to Dolomites one side and Tura the other. After short descent from saddle I headed to Cima delle Batterie summit, which war didn't spare as they riddled it like wanting to make stone Emmental. After descent to Passo dei Ciacciatore I reached Monte Chiadenis via Via ferrata CAI Portogruaro, descended the other side to Calvi hut. When after coffee I headed to Peralba, the clouds that had been most persistent all morning right over its 'head' started thinning, so both the secured Ferrata Sartor path on SE side and descent via Via del Papa on NE side were enjoyable.
As topping I almost befriended marmots at Sesis pass, there really aren't few. mežikanje
