I spent the May holidays in the Cabella Ligure valley, near the larger town of Novi Ligure, 60 km left before Genoa. Here in summer resides Sri Mataji Nirmala Devi, where real yogis come from the whole world (meditations with energies of divinities, which mother summons at pujas - dedications of unions with them). Since I know that besides the spirit it's good to actualize also physically, I head straight from the main road to the quite distant viewpoint Giarolo. The road winds through idyllic villages and friendly locals, who here speak a bit special twisted Italian (similar to our Gorenjci). There seemed to be no end to the asphalt paths, after less than two hours I finally overcame the 10 km distance. Ahead was a bit of walking through torrent gullies and battle with annoying, tangled, thorny shrubbery, later I stepped on the greens with young larches. Along the ridge I quickly reached the panoramic peak, where on clear days you can see from Mte. Visa 3842m to Monte Rosa 4634m. In these mountains, whose peaks reach 1700m, full of plump wild boars, oak trees, snakes, deer antlers and raptors. Hunting clubs everywhere and in autumn it bangs all around. Here with dogs they gather also truffles, which you can treat yourself to at the nearby pizzeria. This winter lots of snow (2m), which holds due to more southern location (geo. lat. Split), only a few months. Snow not white, but rusty, due to Genoa bay influence (sea pollution). Mountaineering here quite developed, also ski touring at snow conditions, mountain bike, cross motors... Later in summer hellish heat here, at 1700m always nice breeze and cools. Lp-Rok
