More than a month has passed, but the impressions are still strong. With a mountain guide and climbing partner, after successful acclimatization on Ortler on 23.7.2012, we drive over the Stelvio Pass and Bormio past Sondrio to the Val Malenco valley. The path leads past rifugio Carate Brianza to the Marinelli Bombardieri hut, where we overnight.
The next day early in the morning we cross the Scersen glacier, climb to the Marco e Rosa hut and attempt the summit, which was not meant to be ours. Due to fatigue during the descent I accidentally stepped almost waist-deep twice into the treacherous "crevasse", but quickly scrambled out of it and we safely descended back to the Marinelli. The next day on the extremely beautiful, varied and scenic Alta Via della Valmalenco past the Musella pasture we "nailed the sausage" to the parking lot at the lower Campo Moro dam. There was still the drive past Lake Como, Milan, Venice and Trieste back home awaiting us. A tour that doesn't leave you indifferent and literally takes your breath away (at altitude)  .
