Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m

Prima Pala belongs to the smaller mountain group Pal di San Lucano. These are still Dolomites, but more by name than appearance. Here everything is much greener and more overgrown than the usual ideas about this range. Nearby are by looks much more dolomitic Pale di San Martino, where we enjoyed every step some time ago (here).

This time we started in the village Pradimezzo, which has a smaller parking lot for visitors at the beginning. Higher there are more, but intended only for residents of this hamlet. It's also unambiguously marked. But no need to violate regulations, since the path through the village is short and well marked. The real mountain path starts at the forest edge and is fully traceable. It's quite steep, as lots of elevation needs to be gained in few kilometers. Also surprised me the mowed trail, as otherwise it would squeeze the pants and more in many places. Hats off to such enthusiasts nasmeh.

From the pasture d'Ambrosógn the path becomes more high-mountain and so to the top, where bivouac Bedin of a really special sort stands. Besides sleeping part it has also a living room, from which there are apparently wonderful views to surrounding giants. Apparently, because we had fog all around and nothing was visible. It happens.

Return took place along the ascent route, as no other sensible connections exist. It wasn't hot for us, as sky unexpectedly provided water cooling. Rain gear we luckily always have with us, so it wasn't bad for us. Soon we were at the starting point, where only one car was parked. These places aren't target of mass tourism and thus have special charm. Followed only drive home, sniff, sniff, but we'll come again nasmeh.

Coordinates of starting point (Pradimezzo) : 46.3395247N, 11.9708036E
Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m We park at the only village parking lot intended for external visitors. There isn't much space.1
Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m We quickly spot the first sign for our objective. Further on, only the bivouac is mentioned, not the peak where it stands.2

Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m The continuation for a short time runs right by the wall.9

Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m Rarely do we walk through such a beautiful allée and the path is even mown :) 12
Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m Riddle … what is *x* doing in the sign? Maybe it's the marker for the upcoming intersection?13
Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m There is enough drinking water and the trough is new too. Someone really takes good care of this path.14
Prima Pala di San Lucano - 2221 m Planina d'Ambrosógn. Just before it is the path fork.15

Sorry for the weather, from the bivouac nice view on Civetto and Moiazzo.
But isn't it San Lucano, instead of San Luciano? nasmeh

bagi, is there any path to the valley on the other side of the bivouac? It's marked on the Tabacco map...

Probably you mean path 765 towards Taibon? I didn't see a signpost, nor any path ahead. The fog was unfortunately too annoying. But Mašer describes this same path in his book Dolomiti po dolgem in počez. Short summary is that you don't want to go down it nasmeh.
