We were in the Dolomites for the weekend, on Marmolada. On Saturday we went up to the Pian dei Fiacconi hut, planning to do the Cresta Ovest ferrata to Pta Penia on Sunday, but Saturday afternoon the two of us headed to Punta Rocca (3,305 m), the left summit on the Marmolada ridge. Unlike the described route, we two decided to go naturally up the glacier. Unfortunately the weather got worse during the ascent, so we changed the plan a bit and climbed only to the top (third) cable car station, and from there to the first accessible summit (not on the map). Descended first via the ski slope, then turned left and naturally down to the Pian dei Fiacconi hut. And some pics...
