This year the time limit was 2 h 30 min at the Cà d’Asti hut at altitude 2854 m.

Yes, probably true. About 400 started, but only 197 at the finish. Other years it was even stricter and only 20% of the best went up - so only about 30. This time the limit was just right, because later there was a heavy thunderstorm. I recommend! Very nice race. Especially this year, when there was no Grintovec Race.

Bojan, even in favorable conditions (cold, dry) I wouldn't catch the limit anymore and would be at least 10 min. short, so I'm already a bit skeptical for Grinta 2018... velik nasmeh

Bojan, of course all congratulations! 2h41 seems a fantastic result considering that from the valley to the top is a minimum 7 hours ascent.

Yes, views are divine, Red Bull can be dangerous e.g. also in connection with alcohol.

Just a small correction: you said you started in front of the castle, but it is elsewhere than the picture from your blog shows. On it are Porta Savoia, next to the cathedral. I assume the start was there which is also more logical as it's the central point of the town.

After vacation I'm still finalizing thoughts and photos... but the first part is here. Before Vanoise we stop at Rocciamelone. Very scenic and relatively easily accessible mountain rising 3km above the valley. Oh, no need to go on foot all the way from the valley like the runners in previous posts... road takes you to 2050m cool

On 24.6. there was still a little snow... actually surprisingly little, given the altitude and conditions back home at that time.

Yesterday, 27.9., we set off from Susa (503 m) to Rocciamelone. Conditions excellent - pleasant temperatures and no wind. Too bad Ca' d'Asti has already closed for the year, we'd have had quite a few customers. nasmeh
