Sorapiss (3205)

After our midweek visit to Monte Pelmo we drove the same day to San Vito di Cadore, where we missed the last ride to the Scotter-Palatini hut by 10 minutes. Because of that there followed a bit 'extra' ascent along the ski slope to the S-P hut and then to the beautiful San Marco hut. We slept there and started the ascent the next day around four towards the Slataper bivouac, where I unintentionally woke up some Frenchman. Already before the bivouac the approach under the wall and the very start were clearly visible on the scree. Based on the description we had with us, we had no problems with cairns and additional markings on the rocks in the wall itself. The hardest spot is definitely the chimney, where we rappelled on the way back. More than well exploited two days had to be concluded with the drive home. Regards

In summer I'm heading on a tour around Sorapiss. Starting point Passo Tre Croci past hut Vandelli. First day to bivouac Slataper, second day onwards. Various guidebooks describe the route both ways. Basically I imagined the route clockwise. Can those who have already done this advise which direction to do it in.
Thanks!

Friendly hut warden gave me all necessary info on changed start during booking - now right above settlement at Baiti sun bar (ski slopes start).
Since avalanche took large slab under Antelao summit, road ahead closed to public traffic, summer vans (5eur) to Scooter hut, chairlift no run in summer. All due to falling rocks danger, but whatever in ski seasonzavijanje z očmi Interesting hut built 1895 mostly original preserved, stands in really nice spot. Soon after arrival sunset over Croda da Lago, right silhouette Cinque Torri, across valley Pelmo giant takes panorama part. Later last rays light Antelao walls, dinner time. Start dark at 6am, first rays hit Sorapiss summit part after crossing Forcella Grande. Then after under bivouac crossing enter real walls amphitheater. Grueling scree ascent short rock jump, short easy left traverse at key spot (chimney). Above left traverse, bit scramble long right traverse not hard so enjoy views. Summit access last 100m concentration again, on top 360 view exceeds expectations. Return met only climbers at route entry but then (12pm) summits fogging.
Nice tour on beautiful mountain succeeded, further plans remain as probably end high dry tours nowmežikanje

Punta Sorapiss 3205m Normal Route. Extremely beautiful but long and strenuous tour requiring basic alpinism knowledge. Mountain covered in scree and gravel, great caution needed to avoid slip !!

Nice already, without reaching for those peaks! For a start just walking the road and ascent to the hut would be enough for me. You're already in a fairy tale and have the beauty in your palmnasmeh!

It's nice already, but you can easily skip the road walkingvelik nasmeh, since there's a soft path that cuts the serpentines. Only under the Scooter-Palatini hut it's 200m on the road.mežikanje

I'm thinking which village...back then we got there with a 30-seater bus. Locals stared like "event in the town of Gogi" At one spot it really came down to centimeters, not to say millimeters velik nasmeh
