Three peaks above Val Pesarina

On Friday, 23.9., our group headed to the beautiful valley in the Carnic Alps - Val Pesarina. We aimed to climb three peaks. For two we had the base at F.lli Gasperi hut. We climbed to it from the valley from Pian di Casa hut. Nicely routed forest path 201 took us to a sign of closure due to landslide. We decided to check if the path is really impassable and it turned out that quite a few feet had crossed the gully already, as the trail was well worn. So we reached the mentioned hut without issues, dropped unnecessary gear and continued to the summit of Creton di Clap Grande, where path 232 leads. Ascent on scree terrain wasn't anything exciting. At the junction we decided to warm up by going to Forc. del Alpino. Walking and climbing in the gully is unproblematic, up to 1st grade, at the passage over the jammed rock between two walls, more skill and strength was needed. We reached the notch and continued left on the newly built "bypass" of ferrata 50, routed on the SE wall of Creton di Clap Grande. Airy, nice, requires quite some arm strength. At the bottom of this ferrata we continued down the gully and under the wall, before the grassy scree terrain starts, turned right on the path marked with large red dots and cairns. It brought us to Clap Grande. The whole Friday tour was full of scree, fog alternating with rare sunny spells. Still, we returned to the hut satisfied. 2nd day - Ferrata del 50 on Creton di Culzei. We woke to a clear morning that pleased us only till 11am. Started on path 316 below the hut, crossed steep gully and after good half hour of walking were under the entry wall. Gear on and into the wall. Initially nice warm-up climbing continued into nicely routed airy ferrata, well protected. At top fog again, but still got some views to Sappada and surrounding peaks. Descended to Forc. del Alpino and then down the gully we ascended previous day. At the tricky spot over jammed rock we belayed with rope. Since we were at hut quite early, we set out to explore the valley and slept there too. 3rd day Terza Grande beckoned us. Couple km below Lavardet pass is start of forest road passing Casere di Mimoias (path 202), continues to Paso Enge and on to Paso Oberenge. There we left path 314 to Sappada and above it turned left into steep slope. Through grassy scree terrain up to the peak's wall, helmets on, poles away and into the wall. Path not problematic. Climbing 1-2 grade took us to panoramic summit bathed in sun this time. Looking at peaks from previous two days we realized they obviously get fog curtain at exactly certain hour . On summit we enjoyed beautiful views for almost an hour, then descended ascent route. To valley quick, then car and through nice village Sauris home. Really nice extended weekend happened to us.
