Via Ferrata Sasso (next to Baitoni village, Lago d'Idro)

Lake Lago d'Idro and its surroundings were completely unknown to us, although it's located near much more famous places like Lake Garda and Lago di Ledro. For a taste, we visited the very interesting Sasso via ferrata, which runs right along the lakeshore. Its peculiarity is walking on water. Literally velik nasmeh.

We parked at the tourist beach on the western part of the lake near Baitoni village. We kept to the left side and past the guesthouse found the first signs for the via ferrata entrance. This is a story in itself. It runs along the lakeshore and only slightly goes up and down. The steel cables are more for protection than for progression, but without them many passages would be quite annoying. In between there are also some emergency exits to the lakeshore, because apparently some even swim back velik nasmeh. The main attractions are the suspension bridge and the section where you step into the water. There you progress on rocks just below the surface, how wet you get depends on the lake level. At the end there's some substantial ascent to the nearby hillock and that's the end of the via ferrata.

Return is possible in several directions, well we had to test the via ferrata once more and returned along it. Recommended nasmeh.

Coordinates of starting point (parking lot near Camarelle marina): 45.803134, 10.536255
