Via Ferrata Terza Cengia / Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles

Via ferrata Terza Cengia was a long debt from last year. Back then the descent through the collapsed scree from Punta Fiames tired us so much (here), that we had no desire to continue towards the mentioned via ferrata. This year the stars turned differently. We chose a different starting point, earlier departure and had an experience that we will gladly repeat nasmeh.

The via ferrata is of military origin, like most others in this area. It traverses shelves across some honed peaks of the Pomagagnon group and it's truly unbelievable how they routed it all. We expected crowded and exposed passages above deep precipices, which is indeed true. We didn't expect, however, that the via ferrata is excellently protected at all key points and we felt no discomfort anywhere. The difficulty isn't great either, the via ferrata reaches max A/B category. But the enjoyable impression is excellent and I can only warmly recommend it velik nasmeh.

After exiting the via ferrata we also visited the easy summit Punta Erbing nearby, then started the return towards the starting point. It follows the Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles path, which isn't the easiest, but not particularly difficult either. At the saddle Forcella Zumeles this path ends and transitions into a really nice mulattiera marked 205. This took us to Son Force. For the second time in a few days we visited the nearby hut of the same name, which has excellent offer and low prices. Followed descent along path 203 near the ski slope and final turn towards the starting point along path 206. This in the final part runs through high and airy larch forest, where walking is pure pleasure. We'll come again nasmeh.

Coordinates of the starting point (Brite De Larieto): 46.550965, 12.175823

Via Ferrata Terza Cengia / Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles We walk the initial ledges. The environment is truly impressive and you feel the pressure of the mighty walls.10
Via Ferrata Terza Cengia / Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles The ledges become ever narrower, but the steel cables ensure safe steps.11
Via Ferrata Terza Cengia / Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles Well, it's still not quite a walk :)12
Via Ferrata Terza Cengia / Sentiero Attrezzato Zumeles Forenoon most of the ferrata is shaded, but sun can hinder view at some spots.13
