I regularly read Hribe.
I've never come across a topic about dogs in mountain huts in Slovenia. I'm really wondering why dogs aren't allowed in the hut!?? That's why my husband and I prefer going to foreign mountains, where we're always welcome with our dog. Let me explain: we have a very calm dog that obeys on a word and doesn't bark. It is of small breed (deer pinscher) and always on a leash. Accustomed to cleanliness since it lives with us in the house.
Whenever we've asked caretakers for overnight stay with dog, always the same answer in the hallway or outside in the shed. But that's not acceptable for my dog as it's too attached to me.
That's why we go to foreign mountains. Probably not the only ones. We have really nice mountains which aren't accessible to us except day hikes.
