Hi, today I had the chance to take a little walk with touring skis in this park... there's just enough snow, if there were less it wouldn't be possible... the cold was appropriately Norwegian -10...velik nasmehvelik nasmeh... too bad that the highest peak HALLINGSKARVET 1933m was in fog, otherwise I'd go up there too... but let the pics tell more...

Ufff ufff fff.. Now we're jealousnasmeh I'd go too!!! Every year driving to Finse I look at those wonderful mountains and wish to be there once in winter. You could ski in Finse in summer too if early enough but always no space for skisnasmeh

Is the town below you Geilo?
Did you go by car?
Where to sleep in winter, rented room or car/tent?
How's daylight this time? Summer no light problemnasmeh
Will you go higher somewhere? Møre og Romsdal and area, more mountains maybe better for skiing?

Enjoy, Matej

Hi levak....

yeah, the town below me is GEILO, yeah... otherwise we're here on business, we're ski instructors and come almost every year for training and races.....

we went by van through Germany to Kiel, then ferry to Oslo and then by car less than 4 hours to Geilo... speed limits here are ZEEE VERY LOW, fines very HIIIIGH eekeek radars every hundred meters, so it's better to drive at the limits..

we sleep in wooden cabins under the ski slope.. super, they have houses for six, ten or 12 people....

daylight is like this.. gets fully light around half past 10 or 10..... sun sets already at half past 3..... then you just know how it is...velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

from Geilo we also go to HEMSEDAL.... then also to TRYSIL, that's more to the east.....

cooold ufff... yesterday -21... today -19.... cold nooo...velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

well that's how it is.....eekzavijanje z očmieek

I envy you a lot. Not exactly a nice trait, but that's how it is if you're down here, others up there. I wouldn't exactly ski, but I'd put on snowshoes and go. Scandinavia pulls me a lot, where I haven't been yet, but it's a bit or very expensive. It'll have to wait a bit more. Keep enjoying, Odri

Uff, enjoy itnasmeh I'd like such a job toonasmeh Well, next year I'm going to study, it'll be fine toonasmeh

You went there via Kiel. How much does the ferry from Kiel cost? I've always gone to Puttgarden, Denmark, ferry to Sweden and then to Norway, but yes, you have to drive 24 hours instead of sleeping half the way on the ferry. Regarding radars, don't talk, good that I have GPS, otherwise I'd probably be bankrupt alreadynasmeh (by the way, the highest fine issued for an offense was 150,000€:O).

Do you perhaps know the price of the cabins? In summer they're not needed, but I'm thinking of going in March to ski and climb a bit, given that there's a plane from Venice to Oslo.

I wish you lots more enjoyment in this wonderful country. It's gotten under my skin so much that I have to go up there every year.

Odri: That it's expensive is more of an urban mythnasmeh It depends a lot on the person going there. If you like to be fancy, sleep in hotels/apartments, eat out,... then it's expensive as saffron. If you like to camp in the open (it's allowed there), sleep by lakes/glaciers/mountains/fjords, live on cans, pasta and occasionally some treat, then it can be much cheaper. For me it's around 1000€ every year for 6 weeks. If you're interested, check out the post "Pod črto" on my blog Zunaj.si.

oo a bit late but anyway.... ferry Kiel-Oslo for two persons and Trafic kombi was around 450 euros... but that's some special price.. otherwise a bit over 500 euros... problem only that you have to leave home at night because the ferry goes at 2 pm.. to Kiel about 12 hours...eekeek

cabin prices are like this.. this one we have for 6... but can easily sleep 7 is 1200 NOK per day and 800 NOK cleaning at the end....velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

well that's it.......mežikanje
