Recently my wife and I returned from a five-week trip around Sri Lanka and holidays in Maldives. Among other things we climbed Adams Peak in Sri Lanka, the holy mountain which is the meeting point of four main religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. As a curiosity the mountain is accessed by 5200 steps and during the ascent you overcome 1000 elevation meters. The ascent takes three hours and best is to start at night and await sunrise at the top. Unique experience. Otherwise Sri Lanka is unique, wonderful, incredibly cheap, people more than friendly and not at all dangerous. It's right at the top of my 26 trips around Asia. We'll return in November. Lp!
