14th Hike: On the Karst It's Beautiful

Have you ever strolled on the Karst after the grape harvest?
Do you want to taste the goodies of Karst housewives?
Do you want just a peaceful hike and listening to the rustling of leaves?
...imagine that under your feet rustles fallen oak leaves, as the blood-red dogwood greets you along the way...

HAVE WE ENTHUSED YOU?

We invite you to join us on the 14th traditional hike "ON THE KARST IT'S BEAUTIFUL", which will be on Sunday, October 11, 2009, gathering in Praprot (I) between 9.00 and 10.00, from where transport to Tubelj (hiker registration). Hike starts at 10.30.

First, we'll enjoy pastries from local women and drink a glass of juice, teran(...) and head out on the excursion. Like every year, we'll take you on a new trail this year too. Our hike trail changes every year and each time we try to please you with something new.

On the Karst we don't have really high peaks, as Karst is a plateau, so we'll follow the karst relief and visit small karst villages (chance to buy karst honey), a dramatic surprise awaits on the path. We'll also visit a tourist farm, where we'll taste teran (kids juice, of course). Then we'll head across the "border", and on the Italian side see Zidaričevo pejco cave, which will be illuminated for the occasion.

We'll end the hike in Praprot (I), where Oktoberfest is on with food and drink kiosks operating. Walking is approx. 3.5-4 hours. Suitable for all ages, hiking footwear obligatory. We'll reward some hikers too.
Hike in any weather. Registration free. Hike at own risk, only voluntary contributions collected.

Well, from Praprot to Tubelj you can come on foot too, like I'll go, straight across Bitagonjk and further. Well, just so you know, you extend the path by an hour and a half...
What they didn't write is that in Praprot, in the afternoon, there'll also be an entertainment program, more about it on the skdvigred website

We were, this Sunday, around Kras (I can say home Kras). Weather was super, although Saturday didn't look like it and there were quite a few people, even from Notranjska. I think everyone had a good time. Anyway, if anyone is interested, we have a whole series of hikes around Kras on autumn-colored paths of Kras. If anyone is interested.
