Along the Soča - Goriška Brda

From Solkan along the future cycling path to the village of Plave, then along the regional road towards Goriška Brda. The cycling path along the Soča, which is not officially open yet, is normally rideable; on some sections it is marred only by thick deposited gravel that requires maneuvering especially on descents. In Vrhovlje, we decided on the path towards Gonjače, where from the viewpoint tower we admired the beauties of Brda, especially the beautifully maintained vineyards. We continued the path to the beautiful village of Šmartno, then through Dobrovo and Vipolže under Števerjan to the Italian side of Brda. A short climb and we were already descending towards Podgora, a village on the Soča just before Italian Gorizia. We finished the tour in Solkan. All tours in Brda are up-and-down variants and require quite some cycling fitness smile
