Today the already 18th-anniversary hike took place along Vertovec's paths. Surrounding residents of villages on the other side of Vipava and Ajdovščina have set up such a lasting memorial to their compatriot. Every year at this time the hike takes place and attracts crowds of hikers from all Slovenia. The path is circular and runs through several villages among vineyards, cherry orchards, persimmons, through old villages and hamlets. The path is well marked throughout. It runs some through villages, some through forest, on meadows. Sometimes on asphalt, then again on macadam and trodden wide paths. The entire circular path we'll walk in about five to six hours. In between the locals will offer coffee and tea for free. We can buy everything from persimmons to various drinks, honey, souvenirs. We can also stop in the cellars of numerous winegrowers. Almost every village has its own lovely little church. Along the path we can also visit Ojstri vrh, where you even find a stamp and logbook. But today a real Karst bora blew through us.

Path for everyone, even after rain. Original route is over 16 km with 600 m ascent. Everything well marked, places interesting. We upgraded it with the nearby viewpoint Školj peak, which is not demanding at all. Recommended nasmeh

This Sunday 50 hikers, mainly from Styria, went on a hike to Vipava Hills for cherries. We walked most of Vrtovec's hike, which we usually do at Martinmas, but this time we wanted juicy cherries. Rainy in the morning, but it didn't stop us, then it cleared up, it was a beautiful day. Locals extremely friendly, on Planina they let us pick some cherries - as if stealing, but of course with permission. At least some didn't freeze, excellent. When it cleared even more, we were like in paradise. Some walking, some socializing and tasting home-made goodies. How some are hardworking, diligent, hospitable. Besides wine, liqueurs, juices, they prepared cherry strudel, pastries. We bought all the cherries, would take more, unfortunately rain these days prevented picking. We'll bring friends already in autumn. Uroš is the real soul for all hikers, everything excellently organized and guided.
