The so-called "Nordic walking" seems like one big scam to me.

Because they'd teach us something innate. And sell us "essential" gear.

I think the same. On the other hand people who never moved started with such walking, that's positive. Similar to all other modern sports directions, each has something positive, to others it's "whatever".

Poles, special. Regular hiking ones don't allow proper walking . Special shoes (superg) I haven't spotted yet

Fine also with telescopic hiking poles. Many even include the attachment for that side lower part.

Especially the "so-called" bothered me - name official since 1980s last century - "nordic walking" invented by ski trainers, probably Scandinavians for summer to keep technique link. Don't know if diagonal step innate, maybe... On necessary gear - poles few dozen euros enough, use running stuff...shirt simple sneakers. Upper body arms very active. In Slovenia equated with third age, pensioners, while in Austria Germany Scandinavia much more popular. Traders admit Slovenia not big market for it, hasn't caught on. Agree partly shops push special gear. Personally not doing it but use poles years, not telescopic. On long distances do short section this way to break monotony. Lp

Not every walking with poles is Nordic walking. But needs a bit more than just holding poles.
