Weather excellent, walking without skins quite hard (at start and end we walked without skis). Hard base below summit, excellent ski descent, same in middle section where we caught quite some powder, lower part all messed up by avalanches, so there more trudging. But atmosphere, views top-notch, so really excellent. Next time to Stol too, if we don't start at 11:30 again instead of 4.

"Once is never," we said, and today we set off on ski touring again. This time from Bodental to Belščica saddle. Skis on a few meters from parking, it won't be like that much longer. Weather second day in a row phenomenal, midweek ski tourers so many we couldn't believe  . Sun scorching, ski conditions much better than yesterday on Viševnik to our great joy, so we really enjoyed and the descent passed too quickly.

Yesterday I praised Monday conditions, today weather screwed us. Early more sun, no wind yet and we headed for Vrtača or at least Palec via gully. Midway through avalanche I was overcoming with skins, Nina with crampons, we realize whole slope is one big ice sheet, obviously wind and low temps did their thing, so turn right to Belščica saddle. Slopes cut by numerous avalanches, so skiing not easy, thus skis on backpack and crampons on feet. Closer to saddle, stronger wind and at Vrata pass almost storm. Nina turns immediately, I peek towards Vajnež which was another option. Without gloves to pack gear nearly freezes, ski starts not promising due to wind and very hard base. Turn right, try left, everywhere so hard it shakes skis. Totally exhausted to bottom, unbelievable, don't remember such base. At bottom wind at least eases, so slowly thaw. What to say; sometimes not meant to be..

Yesterday quite decent ski descent above Poden. It was bumpy and harder on thighs, but base smooth enough for solid run.
