Romana, Uroš and I set ourselves the task to hike a loop, Dravograd, Košenjak, Kozjak, Brestanica. We cross the Drava and head to Pohorje, then return to Dravograd via Pohorje. Romana and I had pretty much scouted the entire route in a few full-day stages, because when it's for real and night hikes there shouldn't be any surprises. Well, we had them, first with the weather. The forecast for April 29 and 30 wasn't as bad as it actually turned out. Rain soaked us for more than half the way. We chose the shortest variant of the path. First we walked on the KP Path, then crossed the border to Lovrenc and mostly stuck to the border path, which is well marked. The worst passage is around Kapunar. At the former border crossing Kapla we briefly left the border and went by road to Gradišče. At the monument, we turn onto a very muddy cart track past two farms. On the road to the Gradišče border crossing the car with supplies waits for us. Then we continue on the border path to Farm Knap, Krenčnik. Then follows descent to the Bistrica valley, then ascent to Žavcarjev dom, which of course is not open for three teas. Towards southeast we descend to Brestanica, rain stops on the way. In Brestanica we arranged dinner, dry clothes and shoes, all that we had stored in the car. Full and dry we head to the foot of Pohorje.
