The upper photos... from which date are they? If I guess right, the path to Martuljek spring is already dry?

Today I set off quite late for a short tour to the nicest parts of the Julian Alps.
Start at 11 a.m. at the old Špik hotel; in the forest I check out the dendrological nature trail, jump past the officially closed gorge with rocky top collapse, view the extremely full and powerful lower Martuljek waterfall, and via secured path I reach the start of the glacial cirque Za Akom. There I take it directly up the rocks to the bivouac, where everything is in perfect order. I intended to climb to Rutarski vršič too, but got distracted chatting with friendly hikers, so we stayed on Aka scree and sunned a bit. On the way down we visited Ingota, where everything smells of wood-fired pot and freshly made excellent apple strudel. Here it's quite lively with ours and especially foreigners, although less visits this year due to rain. Hotel Špik did quite well with occupancy anyway; in 2012 it received TripAdvisor award by foreign guests' rating as top service and destination. Been there, full of noisy choppers.
Tour to these parts is as always balm for the soul. Lp!nasmeh

On Friday, 5.6.2015 evening my friend and I visited the Bivouac. Saturday morning towards 3M, but the heat on the scree was too much, so we went to cool off under the waterfalls from the walls below 3M

Krnica Za Akom, for me one of the most beautiful corners in our mountains, true paradise beauty! I started going there already in my 20s. On the path to the walls, towards the cirque head on a large boulder, already more towards the bottom, there used to be a memorial plaque to two female alpinists AO Jesenice, who killed themselves on the path over Kačji jezik (between Oltar and VMP). On repeated visits I noticed that gravel must have covered that plaque, because it's no longer there.

Is the path to the lower waterfall completely newly made? Regarding Aka I agree with Majda, I usually continue to the Three larches. To them in my opinion it's easiest to get when there's still snow (May).

The path to the lower waterfall is nicely newly arranged. According to the sign, the EU contributed something to it.

...en-goldi - panda - ločanka thanks, I agree those wild ends are something special. Janez, the path is newly arranged all the way to the Upper waterfall; locals arranged it themselves, it was on TV recently. nasmeh

Majdag, Martuljek mountain group is always beautiful and mysterious. Perhaps because here are hiking tours not suitable for beginners. Wonderful tour description. Of course I recommend to all the nice and easy path to Ingot's cabin.

Today I went to scree cirque Za Akom. Didn't even plan to search for bivouac. Will look for it next time. Path is partially demanding, but well protected at key spots. Protection is actually meant to prevent slips.

@Velkavrh, if you'll search for it next time look at your 10th picture, exactly at that spot turn right uphill and above that rock which you see here right, you'll find unmarked path that brings you to bivouac in a couple of minutes. Sometimes there was a cairn here! nasmeh

Yesterday after a long time again in the Za Akom cirque, sometimes to me the most beautiful place in the world. I started visiting there in my twenties, and returned quite often. But so early in the year I hadn't been there yet. The areas above the cirque were a real paradise yesterday also for skiers who descended through Jugova grapa and skied to the end of the cirque.
My first rest was on the boulder where the cairn sits, directing you to the bivouac, which had locked doors yesterday. Then a walk uphill through the cirque towards its headwall for close admiration of Martuljek peaks.
Return via the Na Jasenih plain, which used to be called also Paradise meadows, famous for beautiful views, lately mostly for the log cabin at Ingov.

Yesterday a nice tour to the bivouac Za Akom and to the Martuljek waterfalls. The path in the upper part of the trail towards the bivouac is demanding (well protected), the rock was wet, great caution is needed to avoid slipping. At the bivouac wonderful views open onto Široka peč and other peaks. Nice mountaineer's greeting.

Some impressions from yesterday's path to the bivouac Za Akom past Martuljek waterfalls. The path is normally passable.

Nice mountaineer's greeting.
