Brdo Estate.

Just a few km from the city hustle and bustle of Kranj's shopping centers hides the Gorenjska jewel - Brdo. It advertises as Brdo Estate, which is actually a protocol facility with a nice four-star Kokra hotel next to it. Brdo Estate is open every day as Park Brdo - for visitors at a low price - only 2 euros for retirees and 2.50 euros for others. On weekends there's also a varied restaurant offer. We have 4 variants of walks: quick walk through the park - 1.300m, circular park path - 1.900m, golf and forest part - 1.000m, around the second lake - 1.200m. If we combine all paths, they add up to 4.100m. Let the pictures say more.

Brdo Estate. Brdo was also EU capital-conditionally speaking-half a year, when Slovenia presided over the union.

Brdo Estate. Before the entrance to the estate is the elite hotel Kokra.

Brdo Estate. Behind the fence on the left side of the hotel we see the former orangery posetva, which is now used by the estate administration.

Brdo Estate. Behind the hotel stands a characteristic museum object - kozolec toplar.

Brdo Estate. Immediately at the entrance on the left is the Brdo congress center, which is used as a school facility.

Brdo Estate. Here we are greeted by all EU flags. On four poles there are still no flags - will these be states of a united country someday?

Brdo Estate. I almost forgot the former nursery in front of the Kokro hotel, which during Slovenia's EU presidency was converted into a press center.

Brdo Estate. I forgot to show the entrance to the grounds of the Brda complex - that's the former gatehouse. Behind it is a huge parking lot.

Brdo Estate. In honor of the EU, as many lindens as there are EU states are planted in the parking area.

Brdo Estate. Past the gatehouse we arrive at the Zois Restaurant, which was once Zois's homestead.

Brdo Estate. Open on weekends - occasionally there are various exhibitions here, there's also a vinotheque.

Brdo Estate. Here we turn towards Brdo Castle.

Brdo Estate. In front of the castle we turn right through the pavilion.

Brdo Estate. The bee house is visible from the pavilion on the other side left of the Zois restaurant.

Brdo Estate. Chapel, at least I think it's to the right of the castle.

Brdo Estate. When we leave the castle we go through the linden avenue to the sculpture collection. If we go left from in front of the castle we can go through the pink chestnut avenue and then past the hornbeam rotonda which blocks the view of the castle.

Brdo Estate. From here one can go to the golf course, Green Bar, viewpoints-Wetlands and Wildlife Observation - this time we did not turn there,

Brdo Estate. Lots of small bridges and footbridges - we cross them if we go directly from the castle through the hornbeam avenue,

Brdo Estate. Further we go beside the wooden sculpture of a little horse and beside rhododendron plantings.

Brdo Estate. At the shore of the second lake a surprise awaits us - a black swan with two chicks.

Brdo Estate. It's beautiful here. They can organize a wedding or an Abraham for you here.

Brane thanks for the idea,
nice to see the water "orchid",
some aquatic wildlife,
that happily plays in the water and on dry land.
Lots of work of diligent human hands,
