The road to Ukev is passable with winter equipment. From the guesthouse a trodden path leads past a picturesque alpine pasture to the saddle, where a detour to Kovk (Monte Coco) or to Lepi vršič (Cima Bella) is possible. Even better to both peaks. For hikers, especially on uncleared tracks, crampons are recommended, as the snow is very soft

At least once a year we come to these parts. The road is completely passable, here and there a bit icy, but that doesn't pose major obstacles if the car has winter tires. The parking lot was full, but you always get some spot, just have to walk a bit further. We climbed to Lepi vršič in beautiful snowy landscape. Some went to Sagran, others to Kovk, the third to our goal. I really like this area, nice trails, nice forests, open peaks..... great views. No crowds. Skiing was quite pleasant, not ideal. Snow was somewhat hard, or too slushy. In the lower part it was more fun.

Ravne valley tempted me for a long time, but it just didn't come up. Peaks and valleys from Kapina to Lepi Vršič and Koka I know quite well, from there upwards out I haven't walked yet. Parking of course without barrier and meter, but there are panorama boards so you know where what is. For warming up and getting to know the area I walked the valley up and down, only then I tackled the hike for which I set off from home. Some on marked paths, less off path and even less "by nose", over rocks and bushes. Not much snow, a couple of fingers, from winter gear I needed only hat and gloves, rest I didn't have anyway. Despite sunny day it was cold, strong north wind added, so no lingering at top. Nor lower. Descended by another path, past ex villaggio Cocco and past hut Gortani, and so did nice loop. Until next time, one or two paths still tempt me, when short sleeves then back velik nasmeh
