Today for an afternoon hike from Suhadolnik to Cojz Hut. Car can be left at the large parking lot below the high mountain farm Suhadolnik, or we can drive along the forest road to the end of that road and save more than a half-hour walk. Then we have two options - either the old path or the newer one over Taška. I always go up Taška, back the old one. The path over Taška is skillfully routed over the steep overgrown ridge of Taška. At the most exposed spots we have steel cables, pegs and ladders. Above Taška we soon reach the former Suhadolnik pasture, where the left path branches off over Grdi graben to Dolcev and from there to bivouac under Kočna, to Kočne or to Cojz Hut over Ovnov čer. We go right here and are at the hut in a good half hour. It is open in the summer time. It has more visitors from the Kamniška Bistrica direction, but this is the main starting point for Grintavec and Skuta. In the summer months on weekends it is very crowded. From here go left to Grintavec and Skuta, right to Kalška gora and further to Kalški greben.

I always park down at the sign when there are like 2 spots there on the right, they already know me :P.

Otherwise the hut operates from June to October if anyone's interested..

Hello!

Since we are heading to Cojz Hut with kids, how much is the walking time from the parking lot and which of these two paths is best to "take" given the kids are 4 and 6 years old.

I recommend the old path. The path through Taška is partially demanding. Walking time approx. two hours one way. Nice greeting.

Given the kids' age I recommend the old path. Near this upper parking lot there is a sign where the old path is marked 2 hours and 15 minutes (Velkavrh's picture no. 2).

Has anyone (or maybe will) gone yesterday, today or tomorrow to Kokrsko Saddle from Suhadolnik? What are the conditions regarding the newly fallen snow? We plan to go up on Sunday.
