Conditions on hiking trails

Hello hikers and lady hikers.

I am very glad that hribi.net exists. For me and probably many others this is the main help for hiking, mountaineering, etc. Here I mainly mean the options ''List of mountains'' and ''Search trips'' and more.

But I am quite disappointed with ''Current conditions'' in winter time.
Not with all info, but mainly with responses to inquiries about the current state for a specific mountain and also the path to it. Mostly there is none, sometimes given wrong (intentionally or not?), very short or superficial and often with answers not related to the question. And there is very little up-to-date info on conditions about specific hikes, although I am sure people go always and everywhere.

I have noticed something similar on several hiking Facebook groups. It is easy to boast where everyone goes. Obviously it is much harder to help someone else. Therefore I do not see much sense in these groups anymore and I have ''got rid'' of them.
I believe people do not always follow these forums, but I am still disappointed with poor responses.
Well, at least I am somewhat satisfied that sometimes with the help of short descriptions and quite a few photos I get some help.

may the step forward be safe nasmeh

Poor conditions, less visits, fewer condition reports...
With good conditions condition reports are meaningless anyway.
Pointless, you just go see how it is, not criticize.jezik

I forgot to mention that I don't go to hills, mountains that often. I'm actually quite distant from more interesting, higher and still unconquered hikes or mountains. So I just don't feel like going somewhere blindly. Those with closer trailheads or really obsessed with hiking can afford that. I know I could go on those really more popular and thus probably worn paths, but I'm such that I prefer somewhere I haven't been. There others apparently go less often and so I don't get any useful info. OK, I'll have to settle for that and if I really want to go somewhere, I'll have to risk a bit. Good luck!

As much as now found on the net about conditions, never was in the past. Of course people don't go to mountains to publish every tour then.
Try also pages of alpine sections, SloAlp, Turn club,... Lots of options and much found, despite non-publishing by most mountain visitors.

I think those who seek the most info are those who don't want to carry extra (winter) gear with them and to go already on a made track and I could list more. If you want to reach somewhere, spend time and money, "pour out" lots of sweat. Once you have it in your blood, it is no longer tough.

I think most info seek those who don't want to carry extra(winter) gear with them and to go already on made track and could list more.

And what's exactly wrong with that? To ask in advance what gear is needed? Whether I decide based on received info if I go or not is completely secondary.
