I could say it's an insignificant mountain that only a few who drive through the Canal Valley from Tarvisio towards Udine even notice. A few years ago I already skied down from it. I start at the Cereschiatis saddle. This time I go in the opposite direction, walking less than an hour along the nice private road closed to public traffic to the upper Glazzat pasture, where there's also lively farm tourism in summer. (To have something like that in our TNP is already a blasphemous idea, even outside it's not too welcome). On the pasture I look around at the surrounding mountains, then continue west along the road to the nearby intersection, still on path 434, then I head onto some kind of cart track and traverse the forested ridge in a slight ascent. The path later slightly descends to the next intersection, where I follow the markings of path 453 to the top of Crete dal Oronz. There's snow in this part up to about half a meter, but someone walked there a few days ago, so the trail is made. From the top, of course, wonderful view of the surrounding mountains, where Crete di Gleris stands out especially to the south (pipeline runs under the mountain), then Creta Grauzaria and Monte Sernio to the west, Monte Zermula with slightly lower Pizzulo, then pasture Pradulina and above it Monte Salinchiet, to the north Konjski Špik (Monte Cavallo), Creta di Pricotič and Creta di rio Secco, and of course both Malvuericha (Mala vrha po Vidovo). In short, for such an inconspicuous peak it's a beautiful panorama and so it's no wonder that since my last ascent there have been more Slovenes than Italians, from the known Stritarjevs, to Ivan from Planina pri Horjulu, with whom I met years ago under Cima Palombina, to my former teachers from under Šmarna gora, to the oldest and most active female hiker of our PD with her daughter Marjeta. From the top I descend the ascent path to the fork, then back to the saddle along the nice marked trail. I assume Miro will add some pictures from this trip, who regularly revives memories of walked paths. In dry conditions I recommend this nice loop also for families with children, all together it takes 5-6 hours.
