Črni vrh (Colrotondo) lies above the Upper Belopeško (Mangart) Lake.
To this hill, a little less than 1500 m high, we started from the parking lot at the mentioned lake. We followed path 514, which leads along the road across Jezerska planina, at the end of which it turns into the forest. There we soon came across a junction, where path 516 branches left, leading Čez Plazje to Mangart Saddle. We kept to the right cart track, which ran out after a few minutes, but the trodden and marked path is clearly visible. We followed this forest path, which is a bit steeper here and there, to the saddle Črni vrh (Sella Coltoronda), where marked path 515 branches left to Poldnik or Kopo (Picco di Mezzodi), 514 descends towards Koprivnik. We continued right to the (hunting) hut, where there is also a nice viewpoint (careful, not too close to the edge..!), there we also found a cart track leading almost to the top. It leads through a nice larch grove that will soon get its true color.
Coltorondo was turned a few years ago by logging into a fairly panoramic peak, nice view to Ponca, Strug, Vevnica (direction where Via del Vita runs is clearly visible), V Koncu špica, and Mangart massif. Poldnik group (if I can call it that) is a bit less visible due to trees, nice view also to western Karawanks with Kepa. No view to north and west. For the pleasant ascent we needed one and a half hours.
