While crowds flock to the Stone Hunter, Beraški Cross is very rarely visited. It's most often visited by those crossing the ridge winding from Stone Hunter to NE. And since it's usually mentioned only in passing, I chose it for my topic title nasmeh

No path to it, no markings, needs quite a sure step, especially on top ridge and sense of orientation, because terrain is steep and quite demanding. Descriptions of it practically not found or hardly anything. Even more from foreign sources.

We checked various approaches a bit and chose the direction that seemed most right to us, as the rest looked pretty crumbly or impassable. Some wrote about other routes, but ultimately we agreed we chose right. On almost flat summit ridge needs more caution, as one part of passage width barely for foot. But definitely joy when you step on its summit, as you know not many step there!

On return we descended to Višarska Planina and from there also looked to Beraški Cross. Continued towards Florjanka and admired views along the way and also on its summit to Ponca, Mangart, Gallows Spires, Predel Peaks and to Cold Water valley and mountains above it. Three artificial lakes nearby additionally enrich views. To the car then we descended via ski slope.
