My husband and I don't go on tours in winter, so on weekends we gladly throw the cross-country skis in the trunk and head to Rudno polje, to planina Zajavornik from Mrzli studenec, Rateče, Rogla... Unfortunately this season we've barely managed to step on skis once. The only suitable days so far had Pokljuka and Rogla world championships, elsewhere no tracks yet. Currently watching the weather forecast with a sour face - if anyone knows where to go cross-country (except the two mentioned destinations), let them report. Regards!

if there's enough snow they have tracks prepared also at Gače (between Dolenjske Toplice and Črnomelj), Logatec and Medvode.
but if the weather is so bad, tracks at these mentioned destinations won't be ready for quite some time either
they have a prepared track at Goreljek, that's before Pokljuka at the sports hotel left

There is a lot of snow in Logatec but I think the cross-country tracks are NOT yet ready.

Regarding tracks in Logatec, today on some other forum this post was published:
"In Logatec for the third day already cross-country skiing in both techniques. Track, 2.5 km long, prepared on Logatec Planjave, below Ženčk. Snow 30+, groomed with sledges. Please, due to parking problems leave cars on the other side of the road, best at the playground in front of school. Then 100m to the hayrack where the track starts!

On Rogla there are prepared tracks. As much as your heart desires. There was a World Cup recently up there, so the tracks are better prepared than the ski slopes

I hope it works for you. Watch out for crazy Pohorje drivers, cause I've been listening on the radio all day how they're crashing cars  That's what you get with summer tires and sneakers in the trunk

On 8.2.2012 in Nordic Center Bonovec Medvode, there will be a cross-country skiing day.
Program:
-Track opens at 8.00h and free for all skiers.
-At 9.00h presentation of cross-country gear
-At 9.30h presentation and demo of ski prep for classic and skating technique
-At 10.00h demo and help with classic and skating technique
-From 9.00h to 11.00h kids animation
-At 12.00h presentation of cross-country gear
-At 12.30h presentation and demo of ski prep for classic and skating technique
-At 13.00h demo and help with classic and skating technique
-From 12.00h to 14.00h kids animation
-At 16.00h OneWay Cup - free technique
-From 17.30h night skiing on lit track
Viewing and purchase of gear possible. We will serve tea and mulled wine. Music for better atmosphere. Cross-country instructors present.
Ski prep possible.

Recreational OneWay Cup will also take place within the cross-country day, starts at 16.00h in free technique. Rich prizes.

If there's a cross-country skier from Ljubljana on the forum who often goes cross-country skiing to Rateče, Pokljuka, maybe Jezersko ... And has space in the car for a female co-passenger ... I recommend myself!
