Črvov vrh

From Baška grapa, parking lot Grahovo ob Bači the path led us. First along the road to Bukovo, then along shortcuts and cart tracks past Pušnik farm around Bukovski vrh. At the intersection, by the abandoned school, we turned right and first reached Bukovski vrh. Further the path led us along the ridge towards Worm Peak. The peak is an excellent viewpoint over Šentviška planota, Baška grapa and Julian Alps. We continued towards Ponikve. There we viewed Plečnik's church and continued towards Logaršče. Then followed descent to the valley to Postaja (Most na Soči).

Surprisingly little response to the above described tour. True, it's posted under "current conditions", but still we comment on peripheral matters that have nothing to do with it. That's how we are. The description of the tour to Črvov vrh excited me right away. Namely, for a change from strenuous winter ascents, such a trip fits nicely. Especially the execution thrilled me: by train to the start, all-day wandering and enjoying beautiful nature, hanging out with friends, end again at the railway station waiting for the arriving train.
Memories of young years when we as eager lads, full of expectations, eager for new experiences and challenges, used regular public transport lines to access more or less difficult peaks and tours in our wonderful little country. Do you still remember?

For the whole path we needed 7.00 hours of leisurely walking, of which 3.50 to Črvov vrh.

Šentviška planota is wonderful, so it's worth taking a whole day and letting yourself explore the sights. After you climb out of the gully it's just strolling between villages, meadows, forests and ridges. Just choose a day with good visibility and satisfaction will be great.

In February I went to Črvov vrh from Stopnik. Beautiful tour. But missed at least some signs for the peak.

Yes, you need some sense of orientation and map reading. Actually it's pathless, no markings.

Interesting, people sign the book on Worm Peak every day, but here dead silence for eight years. As if the peak isn't interesting, but we were convinced otherwise, even though we stepped on it on a cloudy Sunday. Well, we didn't praise the weather, but the tour for surenasmeh.

Tone suggested this tour, he probably wouldn't if he thought there'd be no attractions on the way. But there were, with every step, and every view, especially if you're there for the first time.
With great anticipation we headed to the nicely overgrown ridge between Poličanka and Kozarska Gropa, and managed to see waterfalls through the branches that Poličanka creates on its way. We also crossed it at the right spot and climbed past abandoned hayracks to the interesting village Police, after which the valley we admired on the way is also named.
From Police the cart track lifted us higher and higher, past eye-pleasing renovated farms to Worm Peak, where we viewed the vistas more on the info boards. But that's not bad, as you immediately realize you'll have to return for themnasmeh.
We left the peak towards Bukov Gaj, climbed to Košarica, and descended past Degarnik back to Police and via another path back to Laze. So we did a real figure-eight, as we repeated the path only in short stretches.

We agreed it was worth doing this path despite the cloudy weather, because if the mood is good, the weather can't spoil it just like that, especially if other adventures are planned in those partsnasmeh.

Ločanka gave me the idea, so I went from Bukovo to Worm Peak, from the peak down to Šentviška Gora and from there back to Bukovo.
Paths are dry, today it was sunny, cold and occasionally windy.

Today with Tone through Poliška grapa to Police and via Kozarska grapa back to Reka. No snow - except on the plateau, path dry, but don't underestimate the difficulty...

Today from the other side to Črvov vrh. I've been putting it off for a long time to check the path through Žlebi. I drive to Slap ob Idrijci and find the start. It's well marked and no problem. The path looks quite trodden while it goes through the forest. When the forest ends higher up, the path gets lost in the meadows. These are newly arranged and there are no more cart tracks like before. So I go straight across the meadows towards the highest elevation. Just below the summit, Plečnik's church appears from behind the trees. I continue to the village Ponikve and along the road past the ski slope to the top. Despite the foggy day, nice trip. Especially the part through Žlebi is very interesting. I recommend also viewing the cave. For viewing the church I also believe you can get the key. Just need to knock on the right door.

On this path, you need to take a flashlight with you. Viewing the wonderful Zidance cave is almost obligatory.
