24.7....Debeli vrh above Lipanca is a forgotten mountain. It has very few visitors, as the little paths are barely visible. But quite a few new cairns have been erected. Views along the path are beautiful, mountains wonderful. And currently everything is surrounded by blooming arrangements. Beautiful tour, not exactly short, but wonderful. For all who enjoy mountain paths, blooming grasses and nice views. Also for furry buns, just don't run out of drinks in these hot days. nasmeh

Days of greyness in the valleys, days of clouds and sun in the mountains call to the heights. From Rudno polje we set out on a 15 km ski tour to Debeli vrh and enjoyed views of the sea of misty clouds below us and sunlit peaks. Still enough snow for skiing from Debeli vrh, but northern slopes of peaks show a sorry sight. Snow blown away. I start at Rupe, in the lower part of the path beautiful boletus mushrooms grow. They also pick chanterelles, I don't look in the bushes. The path to Debeli vrh starts past planina Lipanca, at the junction to Viševnik. It is beautiful, rocky, purely alpine. Five km to Debeli vrh and back to the hut. And exactly that much from the monument to the hut and back, by GPS. A path to Debeli vrh winds along the extreme right edge. Towards the top it sometimes disappears, you need to pay a little attention. The entrance through the dwarf pines is interesting and views open to all sides. nasmeh

Rarely is there someone on this beautiful mountain.

The day before yesterday we climbed from Rudno polje to Debeli vrh and skied it down. Snow was all kinds, mainly annoying crust breaking under skis. Not much snow and a new load from the sky would be good. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/debeli-vrh-38

Debeli vrh above Lipanca
Today nice circular route to the mentioned peak. Starts at Rudno polje and continues over Kačji rob to Debeli vrh. After refreshment on the summit, descent past Blejska koča to Lipanca back to start at Rudno polje.

Some impressions from yesterday from the wonderful viewpoint and little-visited Debeli vrh above Lipanca and then to nearby Mrežce. Starting point Planina Zajavornik.

We used the nice weather forecast and put on skis at Rudno polje, continued walking on forest roads, climbed the slope among snow-covered spruces and larches to the top of Mrežc. Skied under Razor to the slope of Debeli vrh, climbed up and then skied back to the valley ending the tour at Rudno polje where we took off skis. Sun is diligently melting snow and soon we'll have to carry skis...
