My 13th mountain run to Dobrča this year. After I came to my senses, I headed to the hut, which has been closed for 2 days already. It will be open only on weekends. The caretaker will be some Milan, whom visitors to Tržič mountains surely already know ...
Therefore the entry in the book for mountain bikers and runners will no longer be possible. The regular logbook you can still find in the shelter.
I like training on Dobrča because it's very close to me and the descent is very comfortable. Most often I go from Brezij near Tržič. Elevation difference is 970 m.

First run to Dobrča this year. Already to the start I had to grit my teeth as I drove on a horrible road (via Brdo). I started the ascent a few meters lower than usual, as I figured the standard parking spot would be taken. So today I attacked a round 1000 m elevation difference.
Start in beautiful, clear sunny weather. On snow I was even overdressed and could run in summer gear. The track is very good, snow in it grips excellently. So I'm going surprisingly well. Above Podletova bench the snow worsens. It becomes sticky and slippery. Can't go anywhere anymore. Running in this steep slope becomes an effort. If I miss the track by just a centimeter, I fly into deep snow. About the problems with the cursed fogging of glasses, I've already talked many times. Still, I reach the top with a good time.
Now I can enjoy the beauties of the snowy mountain world. White ice crystals sparkle gently in the sun's rays. Mists play with the Sun and the Sun plays with them. I play with the snow. Especially on the way back, when I realize that there's no track to the hut yet. Super! So I slash through the virgin snow. There's no greater pleasure than that! Snow flies before me like before the bow of some ship.
At the hut I got a super hot tea that warmed my frozen throat. The descent to the valley was perhaps even my fastest. Due to the snow, all obstacles were hidden and I could accelerate wildly downhill.

Added some pics (taken with mobile) so no one says mountain runners don't know how to enjoy beauties and splendors of nature.
Best, Bojan

Today on Dobrča. Conditions for run first excellent, then impossible. Snow sinking up to waist.
Writing because of the following.
After ascent descended to Dobrča hut. Down through forest with some effort no problem. But when reached clearing heard with horror snow cracking around me. Probably with skis something could slide. So currently in mountains really careful, as avalanche danger level 4.

6th training to Dobrča this year. Dry up to 1300 m, then snow appears suddenly. On Dobrča top sinking to knees. And just that snow at the end buried good result on today's course. Tomorrow snowing and run conditions probably worsen again, but white again.
Slowly impatiently awaiting first mountain races this year.
On 3 July also Run to Dobrča.
See you!

Nice greeting Bojan, I follow your posts about mountain running, interested how you prepare for races, how with nutrition, fluids during such efforts?

On short trainings like e.g. Dobrča I don't carry drinks with me. And in winter you're never really very thirsty either. In summer I carry drinks on harder trainings (e.g. Stol), if it's hot, if rainy weather then I'm not thirsty.
On race it all depends on the organizer what (and how many) refreshment stations they put on the course. It's good to have refreshment stations, but for me it's more psychological help when I'm already at the end to have the feeling I've "drunk" something. In practice most water goes past the mouth and I prefer to use it to cool down a bit (usually pour it down my neck). Actually during hard effort you can't drink at all because the body is somehow cramped and you can't swallow water at all.
Yes, actually during the race I don't treat myself to any special refreshment. Important is refreshment before effort and after.
LP, Bojan

I'm curious what the road to Bistriška planina is like, or if it's passable further since as far as I see on the map there's still some km further road to the footpath or where is the parking?
Thanks in advance

To Bistriška planina there is a good road and further maybe another couple of 100 m to the hunting hut. I advise against driving further with passenger car.
There are no parking lots higher than Bistriška planina. But they do drive up with off-road vehicles, mainly paragliders to Poldetova klopca.

After three weeks running to Dobrča again. No snow up to Klopca. Higher up, some cm of southern snow. The problem is that frozen snow hides under it. The snow cover (ca. 15 cm) actually covers only the summit part of Dobrča.
Today it was very warm, sunny - almost shorts weather. In the valley, gloomy and foggy. Tomorrow the last race this year.

Another training to Dobrča. Raining below, up top the sun almost showed. According to camera on Kredarica, clear in high mountains. Conditions for run were difficult, as slippery due to southern snow. Additionally a few mm fresh snow fell at night. On top of Dobrča about a meter of snow.
