Dobršnik Via Ferrata

New via ferrata through Dobršnik gorge above Hrušica, just a few minutes' drive from Jesenice towards Mojstrana. Currently very little water through the gorge, but it'll be even more interesting when there is water and waterfalls fall over the walls. When there are heavy rains and the water rises greatly, the via ferrata will probably be impassable. More info on the ferrata at https://www.zsport-jesenice.si/info.php?id=razp&x=2022042 Lp

Dobršnik Via Ferrata Here is the end of the via ferrata, just a few minutes' walk along the constructed path to the Hrušica-Rogarjev rovt path, down which you descend back to the valley

Dobršnik Via Ferrata I also went to Rogarjev rovt, a 15-25 minute walk depending on pace of course.

After the rain, the stream through the gorge woke up, nice to see all those waterfalls that additionally spice up climbing through the gorge. Careful, rocks wet and slippery! Lp

At the end of the ferrata where it turns into forest to descent path, next waterfall visible. Probably more in gorge continuation

Again some climbing nasmeh

not much water, but some slippery rocks, in upper part one peg wobbly, otherwise whole via ferrata fine.

Has anyone climbed the via ferrata recently? Has the stream risen or can you get through without trouble?

There's quite a lot of water currently, about a week ago I wanted to go but turned back at the third waterfall. Lots of water, rocks were pretty slippery. I'll rather wait a bit more

Finally got to it nasmeh

water in streambed just right, waterfalls nice to look at, via ferrata ok, rocks mostly dry.

End of the first part of the via ferrata, path continues for a few minutes

And again climbing section, sixth waterfall and seventh behind

Via ferrata ends here, along the path we ascend to the marked path Hrušica-Rogarjev rovt by which we descend

In the continuation of the gorge the eighth waterfall is visible

Matija, watched your video - good presentation. My colleague mountain guide went a month and a half ago to climb it as scouting for better retirees group. It was completely wet. After your video it doesn't look too hard. We climb A, B and max beginner C. Felt like some cables wiggle a bit or just looks so.

Anyway, made nice watchable video with music. Nice!

Climbing after shift.. enough water, waterfalls really nice, path and cables all ok nasmeh

Along the path, perhaps former water reservoir?

I also found a bottle, picked it up and carried it to the valley

At the end of the via ferrata also the eighth waterfall

Follows a few-minute ascent to the descent path

Today seeking refreshment in gully, there was none velik nasmeh

little water, hot even in shade. Parts of the path currently quite overgrown. Lp

Today Četrkovci-retirees group PD Škofja Loka climbed Dobršnik ferrata above Hrušica. Eleven most skilled and properly equipped headed into this interesting gorge with several waterfalls. Ferrata should be A and B. To me seemed C sections in between. Demanding. Haven't climbed such demanding yet. Was reasonably dry-at least nothing slipped for me. Short but sweet. Descended to Hrušica via Plavški Rovt.

To the right next to the next waterfall. There are more but almost none have water.

Here the firefighters' entire group photo was taken.

Our Bojan is celebrating - I won't say which anniversary - you can guess.

It's been quite a while since the last via ferrata done, but this post from velkavrha has reignited the desire to visit. Actually I hadn't even heard of this via ferrata, but some have already climbed it nasmeh

Yeah, but I have to admit it's not quite as easy as it's written in many places. It looks pretty varied, but when you're there, there just aren't suitable footholds, or they're slippery and barely any help. So quite a lot of pulling on the cable and searching for distant holds was needed. And it wasn't just us who thought so, a young couple behind us also commented that there are easier somewhere, and also quite harder sections of the path.

But despite that it would be worth repeating nasmeh

! Maybe with a bit more watery waterfalls and drier rocks.

From the starting point towards the Dobršnik gorge above Hrušica.

Information, easier and harder parts, yesterday quite slippery.

First waterfall, here nearby you gear up.

At the second waterfall the cable starts on the left side, later on the right and stays there.

Actually the initial part of the via ferrata.

Maybe it doesn't look like it, but quite strenuous for the hands.

These gloves are great, really firm grip.

View to the last 8th waterfall, but no more via ferrata there.

Beautiful scenery somewhere above the eighth waterfall.

Via ferrata is currently due to a pulled-out peg
on some part damaged or impassable. That means closed. Shame, in the gorge there's currently lots of water and waterfalls are surely wonderful. I went only to the second waterfall, no need to climb to get there. Lp
