Dražgoše

Dražgoše are interesting for hikes in any season, not just the beginning of January.
Today I visited you from the valley, from Železniki I went to Kališe, I skipped Sv. Križ this time, went to Jelenšče, to the chapel in the hayrack, flax drying house, checked the new setup around the church...and returned through Rudno to the starting point.

I walked the entire village from one end to the other (darkness caught me on the way to Novak), it added up to 11 km of walking or pure enjoyment in autumn nature.
Recommended!!

For the last few years, the hike to Dražgoše hasn't been missed, and this year neither. This time unfortunately not from Pasje ravni, but we went anyway. Initially some concerns due to fresh snow and dog-cold weather, we decided to start from Tržič. We parked near the gas station in Bistrica/Tržič and along the road through villages past Zvirč, the roundabout in Podtabor, under the highway past the DARS base road, then in a sharp left turn we turned from the main road onto the gravel path (shortcut), which rejoins the main road near the junction for Gobovce. We continued over the bridge across Sava left through Gobovce to the village Ovsiše, where we crossed the Lipnica stream, then climbed straight to the road towards Dobravica and further towards Češnjica. Even though we had gone to Dražgoše organized several times, behind the village Dobravica we reached the junction with a chapel and behind it spotted a mark, no one remembered where we walked then. We agreed and continued towards Češnjica. Of course we soon reached a dead end, navigation failed (should have gone in the direction of the previously mentioned mark), we turned back and then more by feel, after a good half hour we caught the marked path that we had abandoned a little earlier. As for orientation, it was easier from then on, but there was more and more snow on the path and when we reached the Dražgoše – Kropa road, we waded through the last few tens of meters well over our knees. After less than half an hour of walking on asphalt we reached a sharp right turn with an info board. Here we had the second break with PD Tržič, where they served us hot tea. But this time without a stop determined towards the goal, the last few km. The cold eased a bit, the goal was getting closer and when we reached the little church of sv. Jedrt, where PD Tržič offered us tea and sausage, we sped up a bit on that last kilometer which already offers a view towards our goal.
After a good five hours we arrived at the goal. The rest of the statistics, I think, are not important ;-)
In the end we realized that we didn't stop on the whole path to drink something, eat and rest at least a little. Both of us had pleasantly loaded backpacks with all the necessary equipment, full of food and drink (which PD Tržič always took care of), which we brought to the goal. But so that we didn't carry the contents of the backpacks in vain all the time, at the end we even stuffed ourselves a bit with food, the Turkish coffee suited best, which we brewed on the burner, the water came from melted snow, of which there was plenty.
So, despite the organized hikes falling due to Covid, we also honored and preserved the memory of the fallen innocent villagers and fighters against the occupier this year (8.1.2021).

Bravo, nice that you keep the memory and Covid conditions didn't hold you back.
I would have liked to join, unfortunately this year it didn't work, I would have violated all recommendationsmežikanje
