Today I was drawn back to the bike again, specifically after a few years I climbed up to Dražgoška Hill again and enjoyed riding on the paths of Jelovica. From Železniki I ride to Rudno. Here I go left and climb up the nice gravel road to the intersection at Rastovka. This part was very unpleasant for a cyclist today, as there was huge car traffic (mushroom pickers) and consequently dust. I turn right towards Rovtarica and after about 50m right again onto the forest road leading to Dražgoška Hill. The path is nice and runs in the shade of forests all the time. From the start it gently ascends, after a short flat section two steeper parts come, which are asphalted on the steepest sections. The maximum gradient was 27% , but luckily short. Meanwhile I admire the views opening towards the south. Soon I reached the highest point Vratni rob, which I used for a short break at the forestry hut. Follows descent with some ascent sections. After quite a few km I spot a sign for planina Kališnik on a rock and turn left towards the planina. The planina is abandoned and I continue to the viewpoint, which is also a popular take-off point for paragliders. From here there's also an excellent view of the valley. Then just an enjoyable descent to Dražgoše and further into the valley. Really pleasant tour. And some stats: 32.5km covered and 926m elevation gain. Riding time 2 hours and 15 min.
