If anyone is hiking around this beautiful mountain range in Montenegro, let me remind them of a few things I noticed a week ago when I was there: 1. The only mountain hut at Škrčko Lake (excluding the one in Sušica canyon) is more of a bivouac/shelter by our standards, currently without water (possible to drink from the lake, says the caretaker) and electricity. It has a small stove, table and some bunks, some of which are gnawed by mice. No food, but the caretaker will offer you something from his bag. By the way, caretakers change every week ..? Price is 6€ for sleeping and 2 € for entry to Durmitor national park. 2. I climbed Prutaš (also Plutaš) 2393m from Dobri Dol to Ždrijelo and then to the hut, over Sedlo and back to the car (circular). Recommended, altogether around 6 hours (blueberries, lingonberries, wormwood on the way, and for eagle eyes also chamois). Well marked, caution at Sedlo, some fixed ropes wouldn't hurt. 3. Roads are in excellent condition. 4. Definitely buy kajmak (crust), cheese and rakija. 5. Durmitor and Tara Canyon guide is still a suitable companion - despite its age. Regards Grega
