Čreta
Cold morning: 0°C, black clouds. Where to go to avoid rain?
Uršlja, Rogatec, Menina? During the drive the idea to repeat Čreta pops up.
PD Nazarje organizes a memorial hike to Robert Teržan (1963-2009) every year. I joined this year's hike (22.10.2016) for the first time.
Let's repeat it so I don't forget!
To the nicely maintained Hut at Farbanca - PD Nazarje (702m) light drizzle from black clouds. Past Farbanca to the "Viewpoint". View to Vransko, Posavje hills... Today it was quite windy and fog rolled right above our heads. Stop, descent to the Climbing area ( http://www.plezanje.net/climbing/db/showCrag.asp?crag=1211. ) Equipped routes in the vertical wall look quite demanding...
Past the Alpine Hut of 1st Styrian Battalion at Čreta (966m). To St. Catherine chapel and descent to Zakrajske peči ridge. Past memorial plaque along the ridge further. In between viewpoint to Zadrečka valley, Nazarje...
Descent to Farbanca, short rest with friendly (on-duty) caretakers and in raindrops to start (Potok village).
Altogether approx. 4 hours with hut stop. Cloudy, windy and light drizzle.

Farbanca - Tolsti vrh - underground cave - cross&viewpoint - Farbanca
Parking before Motorček is plowed for a few cars. In approx. 40 min we are at the Hikers' Hut at Farbanca. We greet Sandi&Suzana and continue. We wade at least 40cm fresh snow. To Farbanca it was already trodden. Down in valley at least half as much.
First goal Tolsti vrh 1077m. After one hour wading we stand on its top.
Next goal is the underground cave nearby. Milan finds access and we are surprised by its beauty. Sad to see vandalized stalactites at cave entrance.
Next goal is the cross at viewpoint with view to Vransko, Čemšenik, Krvavica, highway...
At cross at 11:50. Short break and descent to Farbanca. We feel hunger and hurry more. At 12:30 we are at hut.
Suzana takes good care of service, we rest and replenish calories.

Although the trip was still in question yesterday afternoon due to heavy snowfall, today was a real winter fairy tale. Geppo organized the finish after the tour, a bit longer than announced velik nasmeh, at Farbanca. After abundant snack and friendly service we slowly headed to the valley. Thus another pleasant day passed, which flirts with round jubilee, which this year won't spare nasmeh.

I had long been preparing for this trail. Yesterday it worked and hope not the last time. Start in Potok village. First to nicely arranged alpine hut Farbanca, then to viewpoint Križ, from there to church St. Mother of God and to Vrhe. Return to church and descent to Hut at Čreta, where we had good lunch. Then return to start.
Trails dry, here and there little icy - frozen, on ridge quite windy.
Even at this altitude first harbingers of spring.

We were at the hut on Čreta on Feb 1. Started from Žovnek lake to chapel and then to hut. Of course at path start we looked at Žovnek castle, which they slowly renovate. I want to say - also nice path and solitary, something for disconnect.
At hut friendly caretaker Mojca, who was long years at Korošica. Recommend.
