Fixed cables in Turski žleb are catastrophic! 11.08.2008

I advise against using the fixed cables in Turski žleb, as it could happen to you that you crash onto the scree below. On some part of the path the cable is attached to the anchor bolt only with two threads left, which is deadly dangerous in case of fraying and unlucky fall downwards. The cables can be bypassed via the scree past the snow patch to the first bolts and one can climb up to them on some part. If you have time and enough knowledge and strength for moving and walking on scree, then climb up it to the very top of the gully where there is no more snow. Take my warning seriously, because accident never sleeps as you yourself see how many lives have been extinguished in the mountains this year alone due to foolishness. In socialism we said: Better to prevent than to cure.....

Although already said in several places, it won't hurt: according to several reports the fixed cables have been repaired and are in excellent condition (latest info from 24.8.2008).
