Instead of going to the mountains, a walk to the nearby river.

I would be very grateful if you could let me know later whether the Mali Graben overflowed the road later today or tomorrow, especially around the footbridge in the picture.

In the afternoon the water started to recede, so there was no overflow over the road.

In northern Ljubljana (zg. Šiška, Šentvid) hail as big as a walnut with shell. It fell for about ten minutes. Covered the car urgently with blue tarps because projectiles were falling! Now calming down, thank God.

In Pržanj - Ljubljana area with light rain small hail started falling. Hail surely towards evening. Protect things with roof tiles, floors, boards, whatever not yet for scrap! Lp-Rok

Really magnificent waterfalls in Trenta, but let's hope they won't cause major damage or even human casualties. On Vogel camera-view of Lake Bohinj I noticed an incredibly large Govec waterfall (cave active only in heavy rains). Also in Ljubljana the rain doesn't let up, falling in intervals of stronger storms. Tomorrow we need to take advantage of the nice clear day in the mountains, because another week of rain is forecast, but this time snow line around 1500-1600 m asl.

Triglavski, one question. Usually the Boka waterfall due to "high water" carried quite a bit of gravel, stones and rocks down to the valley... and thus successfully "dammed" the Soča river with that material. That's why it flooded in the Bovec basin. Have they regulated the confluence to the extent that this danger is no more? Or?

Yes that was a problem a few years ago, when Boka flowed perpendicularly into Soča and "blocked" it, which resulted in flooding the area at Žvikarju-Podklopca. Then they arranged the Boka bed at the outlet so that it flows obliquely, so the water drains easier and doesn't raise the Soča level, and also carries away the material continuously. Of course with larger flow material accumulates and cleaning will be needed for better flow.

If Boka is big enough it causes disturbance in Soča flow and accumulation forms, flooding the plain at Žvikarju. This still happens and did today too. Similar problem at the confluence of Bača and Idrijca, where they also tried removing gravel and widening the bed, but no real effect.

In Gorizia Soča looks like this......it hasn't risen like this for years, and it's rarely so wavy - around us no major damage so far....

I'll add my photos too....shivers ran through me when I watched the river winding around the Kanal houses, which under normal conditions are quite high above the Soča bed

Recently a strong thunderstorm bypassed Ljubljana, fortunately without hail. The situation is already calming down. It was interesting to observe the circling of the buzzard above Pržanj about 100m higher, half an hour before the deluge. Pigeons and magpies also hid in shelter in low flight.
