Forgotten paths in Kobansko

Autumn is wonderful, in all its shades. If we experience it on solitary paths, even more so. No need to go far, they are mostly within reach, but we neglect them because of higher, "more important" peaks. In youth, this was a "training ground for climbing", now it's replaced by enjoyable walking on paths in the steep world, which hasn't changed at all since then. We've only changed as visitors.

Nicely "caught" Lobnikov vrh with Lovrenc and central Pohorje on picture 10.

That well on picture 6 is really old-fashioned. There are huge numbers of rock jumps still needing inspection. I didn't even go past that main wall (Pramsova peč), worth a look.

That's not Kobansko That's Kozjak. I visit it daily. Best, Nino from below Kozjak (Kamnica)

Ninđa, I'm glad you're visiting it. As far as I remember (maybe I'm wrong), on old maps Kobansko was labeled as the hills on the left bank of the Drava from Dravograd to Maribor, that part where you are was really marked as Kozjak. For me, I was born a Kobanc, lived as a Kobanc and will remain a Kobanc. In my area you never heard the name Kozjak from people, but always Kobansko. Designations often conflict with local names. A few years ago I talked in Matkovo with Mr. Matko the elder and he said he was surprised where they got Jerebičje from. For him it was always Grintovc. And more about names in Matkovo was discussed. There are quite a few such cases in Slovenia.

I know the word Kobansko, but for me it represents the central part of Kozjak (from Sv. Duh onwards) As a path marker, I maintain a 100 km long mountain trail across Kozjak: https://pd-mbmatica.si/planinske-poti/pot-cez-kozjak/ and I haven't heard anyone say they've walked the mountain trail across Kobansko Also in Planinski vestnik and the most relevant magazine for these areas: Planine ob meji, you rarely read the word Kobansko. P.s. I'm really interested in where these forgotten paths run through Kozjak/Kobansko. In picture 4 I see you were moving above HE Fala. Peclov jarek? There I know a wonderful hunting path that leads above the rocks. You get to it if you turn right at Volovšenku. Then at the abandoned farm Dugonikovo you have two options, left Peclov jarek, right Šturmov jarek. P.s.s. where do Kobanci come from and how do Kobanci live? Best regards, Nino

Convincing the convinced is hard. We probably won't find a common language, but definitely some nice path on Kobansko.

I don't bother too much with the name, I prefer to walk the whole thing in one go, fastest along the border, on the Austrian side.

I can only dream of one pitch. A few hours of wandering in the steep world, away from the "mad" world is enough for me. I was curious where one more path leads. Now I know. And I checked the "wall" again after many years. After 35 years, the pegs are still firmly (?) in it.

What if you told us a bit more precisely where those paths are? Last time, the rocks in the pictures interested me, now you've photographed others. Looks like gneiss.

Beautiful this November above 800m, maybe lower already. When you reach the sun, you think it's already summer

As I already mentioned, I only look at them from afar. A few years ago I was already fed up with the peaks above Logarska. Now a peak would really come in handy. Over the years everything evens out, even saturation and emptiness.
