Mountaineering Association Slivnica pri Celju has arranged and equipped a hiking recreational-educational trail named From bench to bench in the area around Gorica pri Slivnici. This is an interesting unique trail marked with Knafelj markers running through several villages, meadows, small woods, past vineyards through idyllic landscape. It connects interesting hilltops. There are nine points, at six there are benches with info panels. At the benches there are also wind spinners, small boxes with logbooks and stamps of these hilltops or points. The whole trail is about 20km long. We can hike it all at once in its entirety, no matter where we start or in stages. This time we visited only four points of the trail. Points are as I mentioned nine-Gorica pri Slivnici-276m, Gradišče-433m-here benches, Peseke-428-here benches, Sveta Helena-528-here benches, Bukovje-419m, Paridol-474m, Turnče-595m-here benches, Col-550-here benches and Gaj-419-here benches. In between lots of other villages. We did 16km. It was interesting. Last year we already hiked the other points too.

From bench to bench We saw many of those old abandoned wooden houses in these villages. In their time, they had thatched roofs.

It went somehow too fast, I only managed to photograph the bench on the Turnče hillock. Will have to do this interesting trail once in full more slowly and plan a whole day.

Another idea from the backpack for the future without municipal and whatever bans. Has unlimited shelf life, conditions can change only in case of snow or natural disasters.

Notice to all internet TROLLS and TROLLETTES (and RIGHTEOUS ONES … Click ) ... the described trip was not done during the current government Covid-19 orders and thus participants did not violate them in any way. From Bench to Bench, circular trail along the slopes above Gorica pri Slivnici … @Velkavrh has written something already, I'll do the rest. It has nine checkpoints, all nicely marked and praise goes to those responsible for this thematic trail. You won't get your fill of summits here, the points are more connecting type. Benches contrary to expectations are not at all checkpoints. Lots of roads of all kinds, some cart tracks, least forest paths. The trail is scenic in places, elsewhere not. Maybe somewhat forgotten areas, but for many that's the charm. All in all 23 km and 1200 m elevation, summits are Gaj and Gradišče. More in the photo story ...

I've been to all these benches already, today I connected them into one tour for the first time, did the trail in opposite direction to bagi.
Park at the parking in Gorica pri Slivnica, then to Gradišče, Peseke, Sveta Helena, Turnče, Col, Gaj and back to parking.
Trail is exemplarily marked, practically can't get lost. The whole trail took me about 6 hours, didn't measure the length because my phone died nasmeh
