From Kamniška Bistrica to Ruška Hut on Areh

27th July: departure from Kamniška Bistrica over Kamniško sedlo to Okrešelj. Then past sla to Rinka and along Logarska dolina to the end, where we slept by the chapel.
28th July: Early morning to Klemenšek farm and on to Kisla voda. Rest and snack, then along panoramic road to Bukovniki farm and on over Grohot from Durce to the hut on Loki, where we sleep.
29th July: Start at seven o'clock picking blueberries to the hut on Travnik and on to Smrekovec. Coffee thanks for hospitality, on to Sleme. We left this hut very quickly due to unfriendliness. After two hours we pitched our camp under Uršlja gora.
30th July: Ascent to Uršlja gora and excellent breakfast (ham with eggs and good tea), plus coffee, and on towards Poštarska koča. Hostess very friendly. Path continues towards Slovenj Gradec and on to Kremžarica. Host Matjaž and his wife VERY, VERY good hosts. Heavy thunderstorm with hail at night.
31st July: Morning washed and pleasant for walking. Under Mala Kopa the Partisan hut is closed. AGAIN!!!! Over Velika Kopa to Grmovšek hut and on to Črni vrh to Ribniška koča. Lots of people but staff friendly and their food is VERY GOOD. After short rest after meal over Jezerski vrh to Lovrenška lakes and down to hut on Pesek. We sleep in nearby forest.
1st August: For breakfast we go to Pesek. On towards Osankarica - lots of people, and past Črno jezero towards Ruška koča on Areh.
Let me say, the trail was very strenuous but worth every drop of sweat. I have hiked this trail many times but never in one go. We met lots of people, all friendly and hospitable. We were lucky with weather and the GROUP was RIGHT. Especially memorable was the event at Smrekovec, when young guys and girls from Velenje, upon learning where we come from, played the song KAMNIŠKI LEPI KOT especially for us. Negative surprise at Andrej's hut on Sleme, as the hut is by the road and they had neither coffee nor food, and staff attitude towards us was at very low level.
