From Miklavž to Miklavž

Miklavževanje is a circular hiking trail that runs within the boundaries of Dobrna municipality. Direct access to it is from Vinska Gora and from there it's a total of 34 km with 1800m elevation gain, from Dobrna as the official start another kilometer or so more. The highest part runs across the ridge of Paški Kozjak. The trail is thematic and mostly excellently marked with little hats, only at some spots a question mark pops up.

We headed out on the trail from Vinska Gora counterclockwise. Rain the day before and tall grass took care of morning washing of boots and clothes. There was so much mud that we got deep cleaning too. Here Goretex waterproofness showed itself, as it didn't let the water out of the boots all day velik nasmeh.

Continuation went partly on forest paths, partly on roads, every now and then through abundant greenery. On the Paški Kozjak ridge we wanted to stop at the namesake hut, but this year no open doors there obviously. The only guesthouse on this trail is a bit later at the tourist farm Lamperček. Right there nearby there's also lack of markers for continuing the trail. We solved it with GPS track kindly provided by @Nino and continued to the main road. Trail switches to the opposite side and after a few solid climbs we caught our breath on Aleksandrov vrh in light rain nasmeh. Then followed a longer descent to start.

The whole trail is definitely interesting, varied and well marked. Because of all the greenery I recommend it in late fall or early spring, still gotta count on good 10 hours of average hiking and not many breaks.

Start coordinates: 46.324835, 15.233683

The trail is well followable even at this time of year when higher up it's covered with snow, orientation by the hats, plenty of them. Long and very varied trail with beautiful views. Nice tour for maintaining hiking fitness.

Yesterday on the trail From Miklavž to Miklavž in the opposite direction as @bagi and with an addition also to the top of Basališče, because it's now a point of the Extended SPP.wink
Varied path up and down all around and I also think it's about 10 hours of walking.tongue
start and end1
the only company on the trail2
through the hamlet, the clock is accurate3
a dragon guards it4
The entire path is well marked5
currently no trail stamp6
past here7
and past the bench under the birch8
past the Lamperček farmstead9
where several paths converge10
view to Šoštanj11
ascent past the mill remains12
the trail runs almost exactly along the Dobrna municipality border13
formerly at the Vovk farmstead14
and a preserved mill15
has raised its head16
and I was looking for it17
Once upon a time18
still through another hamlet19
nicely maintained, here a sharp right is needed and a steep ascent follows20
towards another homestead, on one side ...21
and on the other side of the path22
the weather also cooperated more or less with clarity23
white or ...24
red, but always black grouse25
Basališče is still far away26
from this side, there is a steep ascent to Visoko summit27
Velenje Lake and Šoštanj28
a bit more clouds on the ridge of Paški Kozjak29
Nicely maintained30
hut closed, once RSPP point31
I turn to look at the church of St. Jošt32
holidays33
happy, but not forever34
along the ridge among snowdrops35
with a view towards Pohorje36
Mislinja37
The path runs through the forest between rocks along the ridge38
then we exit the forest39
onto the meadows40
I turn right at the edge of the meadows41
into Kajuhov gaj42
I continue straight then turn left onto the ridge43
interesting entry to the summit44
Basališče, logbook is there and two stamps45
across pathless terrain I return to my route, the stamp here lacks ink46
during descent47
some colorful48
šopki49
and another teloh50
Along the path51
there in the back is Zavrh peak52
nice view of Stenica and Kislica53
they were noisy again54
stamp and logbook are inside55
they gathered again56
on this viewpoint bench I linger57
I still catch this one58
The path goes down here59
Here it turns right60
then I am at the church after which the path is named61
Sv. Miklavž62
towards Kislica63
on the right the summit Zavrh64
just in time on the last peak65
