From Predmeja to Vitovelj

I'd like to hike the path from Predmeja to Vitovelj. I'd start at the quarry by the tunnels and head along the Srednječavenska path to the Koča na Mali gori hut. I've hiked this path before, only we turned at the junction to the Koča Antona Bavčerja on Čavn, which I'd skip this time. To there it's marked 2 hours. From the hut to Kuclje on Čavn, I presume, about half an hour. Then I'd head towards Veliki Rob. How long to hike from Kuclje to V. Rob? One hour, less? Then I'd turn towards Čavn...then I see on the map several options. Somehow the most obvious one is where after a while I turn sharply left and descend quite straight to the junction, then go right on the lower (shortest) path to Vitovski hrib and then down to the village (according to descriptions it's the path past Sekulak, or am I wrong?). Knowledgeable folks, please tell me if I've planned the route well, or would you recommend another variant? What can I expect regarding exposure, snakes and bears ? From Veliki Rob to Vitovelj I plan about 2 hours, right? Total about 5-6 hours of steady hiking with a break. Would it work?

Enka, I know the path, very nice. We're not among the slowest, but we hiked 7 hours. Given that these paths are quite frequented, I think bears retreat. I've never encountered anything around there. Snakes can be anywhere on hot days anyway, just be a bit careful. Just bravely, you won't regret it.

Thanks for the encouragement Valerija, and even more thanks for the walking time info, so I'll start earlier. So I'll rather count on at least a good 7 hours of walking .

Enka, I don't know the path completely. From quarry-tunnels to Kuclje past the hut on Mali gori with photo stops I needed 2.5 hours. Kuclje-V. Rob then 1 hour. The path past hut A. Bavčar is at least according to the sign a bit shorter. 10 minutes from V. Rob is the junction to Vitovlje. From there on I haven't gone yet. Path description Vitovlje-V. Rob on the link: http://www.hribi.net/izlet/vitovlje_krizisce_veliki_rob_/26/1209/2029 On Sunday, 16.8.15 I was at V. Rob and Kuclje from Krnica. Some meters of path descending along the edge are quite overgrown. You can tell it was a hot summer this year and not many visitors. From Kuclje direction the trail is easier to follow because the path ascends. Some trouble only right at the start where the path turns to the trail. Also at fallen trees in the forest you need to find passages through undergrowth and branches of fallen trees on some meters of trail. Haven't met bears yet, but last year in the thicket under Kuclje it growled quite threateningly (almost my heart stopped). The day was tilting towards evening and probably some wild boar was nearby. On hunters' advice I now have a bell with me on solitary forest paths. If you're in company, it'll be noisy enough for forest dwellers to retreat in time.
